Mission

Supported by a nearly 20 million award from the National Science Foundation, the READINESS PCL Node develops the scientific foundations, autonomous infrastructure, and AI technologies required to enable scalable, cloud-based synthesis of next-generation electronic and quantum materials. By integrating advanced materials synthesis and characterization, robotics, digital twins, shared data infrastructure, and self-improving AI agents into a unified autonomous experimentation platform, READINESS will transition materials synthesis from empirical trial-and-error to predictive, data-driven scientific discovery.


The READINESS PCL Node will host a suite of advanced AI-driven systems:

Autonomous CVD System

Specifically designed for 2D material synthesis. Advanced AI integration for autonomous process control.

02. AT-BuS

Autonomous Thermal System

Optimized for bulk oxide semiconductor synthesis with autonomous thermal cycling. Advanced AI integration for autonomous process control.

03. APVD-OTF

Autonomous PVD System

Focused on oxide thin film synthesis featuring precision physical vapor deposition control. Advanced AI integration for autonomous process control.

04. AMPCVD-DIA

Autonomous Microwave Plasma CVD

Dedicated to diamond thin film synthesis utilizing high-frequency plasma activation. Advanced AI integration for autonomous process control.
